Why We Created the Mini Moment—And How to Make It Yours

There’s no denying it—life can feel really heavy sometimes.
The news, the expectations, the fast pace of everything… it adds up.
And even when our hearts are in the right place, it’s hard to give anything—our energy, our focus, our care—when we’re running on empty.

But here’s what we know to be true:
When we ignore the hard things, they don’t go away. They grow louder.
And we can’t begin to untangle or grow or show up fully unless we create space to pause.

That’s why we created the Mini Moment.
Not as a fix. Not as a luxury.
But as a gentle, realistic way to send a bit of peace—especially during the hardest seasons.

A Memory Wrapped in a Crate

Our inspiration came from the family cottage—tucked along a quiet lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

We didn’t know it at the time, but that space gave us everything:
Peace, steadiness, stillness.

We’d walk the mossy path to the dock, warm mug in hand, hoping to spot a loon and her babies. The world felt far away, and time stretched like skies across the water.

That’s the feeling we’ve tried to bottle with every Mini Moment.

What’s Inside a Mini Moment?

Each crate is designed to awaken the senses, ground the body, and offer a gentle return to self.

  • Taste: A calming tea or mood-boosting beverage + soft caramels to savor
  • Scent: A hand-poured candle and aromatherapeutic shower steamer
  • Touch: Small-batch goods that are intentionally made and soothing to hold
  • Sight: Thoughtfully chosen artisan pieces and calm, visual design
  • Sound: A curated playlist and a gentle card prompt to help guide the moment

This isn’t just a gift. It’s a soft ritual.

How to Make It Yours

Here are five ways to settle into your Mini Moment, no matter what you’re navigating:

1. Journal something tender
Prompt: What have I been carrying lately that I haven’t named?

2. Think through a big idea
Prompt: What’s something I want to build, start, or explore this year?

3. Reflect on something hard
Prompt: What challenge am I working through—and what would it look like to offer myself grace inside of it?

4. Reconnect to yourself
Prompt: When do I feel most like me? How can I return to that version of myself more often?

5. Simply sit in stillness
Steep the tea. Light the candle. Let the moment unfold.

Each one is more than a gift.
They’re permission slips.

✨ A permission slip to slow down
✨ A permission slip to exhale
✨ A permission slip to care for yourself the way you care for others

Who do you know that might need one?

  • Someone in a season of giving, but not receiving
  • Someone who’s going through something quietly
  • A friend who lights up everyone else's world
  • A coworker who never takes a break
  • A partner who holds steady for everyone but themselves

And maybe—
you’ve been that person too.

If your days have been a little too full,
if you’ve been running without refueling,
if you’ve forgotten what quiet feels like—

Then this might be your permission slip, too.
